One of the best things about eyeliners is that you can do so much with your makeup with just a few strokes. You can easily transform any day time look with this single products so it's the one item I am constantly on the look out for in the market. I can't live without eyeliners.

Hey gorgeous!

Ok... I have yet made another amazing discovery. For those of you who haven't browsed the local cosmetic brands recently, let me tell you this: you are missing a lot. You don't have to spend a whole lot of money to create the looks you've always dreamed of. You just have to find the right products. Although, I still do stand by my statement: If you want that perfect looking makeup, doing your makeup base right with the right foundation will give you great looking makeup. You can scrimp on other makeup but not the base whether it be your liquid, cream, or powder foundation.

Anyhoo, moving on. I have always been a big fan of colored eyeliners. But finding the right texture of the pencil is crucial. Hard liners can't be smudged and the colors are usually dull, and liners that are too soft break easily once you apply pressure.

I was canvassing for a nice affordable eyeliner pencil that one of my readers have emailed me. She was looking for a good affordable brand (preferably local) because she was just a student and was in a tight budget. That's when I discovered these very affordable, beautiful liners!

The sales associate at the Nichido counter at Landmark told me that these eye pencils have been around a while. Hmm... So I was thinking that they are a little bit quite the "un-sung heroes". They had more than 7 colors (I am now wishing I should've gotten the silver!) but these are the most useable ones in the bunch. Introducing, Nichido's Girls' Night Out Color Intense Eye Pencil (P80/each).

For those of you who do not know, I used to be sponsored by Lancome Paris for 4 fantastic years. They sponsored all my makeup (yes, it's heaven I know), and one of my favorites from Lancome is their Le Crayon Khol Waterproof pencils (P1,100):


Lancome came out with a whole bunch of beautiful useable colors depending on the season.

Like this season, which is fall, they came up with deep greens, blues and browns. But the pencil you see here (left), came out in their spring collection.

These Lancome pencils are ultra blendable and has intense colors. The colors are not matte though and neither are they glittery. It's more frosty and silky.

Now, the reason why I am telling you about Lancome's Le Crayon Khol, because I can personally tell you that Nichido's Color Intense Pencils are comparable to that of Lancome's.

UNBELIEVABLE, I know. But... It is true. Tried and tested personally by me!


With their packaging close to that of Lancome's too, I would say that the resemblance of the packaging and it's quality is pretty darn close.

To my loyal readers outside the Philippines: I am not sure if they sell these internationally. Maybe you can find some for sale at Ebay?

Nichido is a brand that I trust and recommend to young girls and ladies who want good quality makeup on a budget!


The thing is, I haven't figured out why some of the pencils say "Color Intense Eye Pencil" and some say "Eye Contour Pencil". I have yet to experiment on that one.


I just love the colors. Totally wearable ones! My favorite is the Vivid Turquoise but not all of you are brave enough yet to wear such a bold color. So we'll start with something a little bit more subtle.

The texture of the pencil is smooth. It glides on skin without you having to tug on your skin. You can actually apply it even though it's not that sharpened.

Color intensity is fantastic! I just love how I didn't have to layer the colors on to get it that bright!

Overall, I give these pencils a 10!

Who doesn't love eyeliners? Don't you?

I just love eyeliners! Whether it be pencil, liquid, kohl, or black eyeshadow, I just adore them! I am always on the lookout for the perfect eyeliner.

I discovered another great eyeliner aside from that Liquiline from Cover Girl. This time, I wanted to tell all the other girls who are in a tighter budget.

When it comes to eyeliners, I’ve always preferred liquid liners. Aside from them having really intense color, it’s smudge proof.

I was in SM this afternoon to buy the mineral loose powder 405 from CoverGirl that I mix with my other shades of loose powder for my own personalized customized color. Yes, I have a tone that is very hard to match so I mix my own shade so that sucks a little bit.

But anyway, I will teach you that some other time, right now I will tell you all about CoverGirl’s Liquiline Blast. An eyeliner pencil that has liquid-like intensity (P450) that glides on extremely smooth.

Intrigued, I used their tester and lined my upper lash lines with a thick line and wore it for at least 2 hours doing a bit of window shopping before buying one for myself.

TWO THUMBS UP (three if I had an extra thumb)! I love that even with the intense humidity now a days, the liner stayed put! The liner has a sponge tip at the other end that you can use to smudge the line to create a smokey effect!

Overall? Best P450 I ever spent! LOVE IT!

Today after my shoot, I went on a shopping spree and bought 5 new shades of eye shadows from MAC. I was always scrambling around my makeup kit when I am at work looking for matte shades for brides and always failed. I would always substitue with something else so finally, in spite of my aching back, legs and feet from a whole afternoon of shooting, I went to Glorietta and bought myself a whole set of shades that I always wished I had!!

Thank goodness my sister was in my condo when I arrived so I tested my new products on her... yes, complete with foundation and false eyelashes!

I used 4 shades on her eyes, and the 5th shade was just plain black so I used it only on her lash lines.

I created a bridal look that was lightly heavy on the eyes. I just wanted to do this because brides are always afraid to use eyeliner, afraid that they might look "too made up" or "too dramatic". So, this is just to show women out there that eyeliner is always, always, always a best option. It looks best in pictures too.

Of course, the decision is always up to my brides because I want them to not only look their best on their big day, but to be comfortable with the makeup as much as possible.

So, Lancome finally sent me the latest collection for Fall 2009. I just fell in love with the ink artliner pot! I have tried different eyeliner pots, and I must say, Lancome has done it! The consistency is perfect, and you don't need a whole lot! I love how it makes such a bold line, and that you absolutely don't need a steady hand to apply it!

Colored eyeliner can bring out your eyes far better than black or brown eyeliners. Colored liners are a great accent makeup that can be worn with minimal additional eye makeup if you wish, or can be "glammed up" with bright eye shadows and fun, bright lipstick. In this article, we will discuss how to wear colored eyeliner.







HOW TO WEAR COLORED EYELINER:

STEP 1: Lay out the outfit you are planning on wearing. It is important to make sure that your eyeliner does not clash with the outfit, particularly if you are wearing a bold liner such as a bright green, blue or pink. Darker tones like purples and raisins tend to match almost anything, as do metallics like gold and silver.

STEP 2: Hold the eyeliner and the top that you plan to wear next to your face.Make sure that you like the way the colors look together and that you also like the way your face looks in proximity to these colors. If you do not like the look, change either the top or the eyeliner color.

STEP 3: Apply your eye shadow. If you are going out during the day, you will probably wish to use neutral eye shadow or even a translucent powder. This will prevent your eyeliner from smearing but avoid attracting attention to the makeup instead of your eye.

STEP 4: Apply the eyeliner to your upper eyelid. Begin at the inside corner and use a smooth stroke to the outside corner. Do not press down on your eyelid. For a subtle, cat-eye effect do not follow the line of your lid back down but aim for the outside end of your eyebrow.

STEP 5: Apply the eyeliner directly under your lower lashes. Do not redip the eyeliner wand before this step. Start at the inside corner of the eye and move smoothly toward the outside corner.

STEP 6: Keep your eyes half shut for a count of sixty.This will make sure that the liner has dried before you open your eyes. Opening them too soon can give you colored arcs at the top of your eyelid.

Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil in #08 ROSE FANTAISISTE. A slim pencil that contains high density color. This color helps brighten your eyes.


Guerlain Divinora Eyeliner in N.5 MAUVE PROFOND. An intensive beautiful eyeliner that contains plant oils to fortify lashes. Instantly provides a dramatic eye look.
