Feeling Pretty in Dainty Pale Pink Lips

#productreview

I discovered a new lippie today that gives a retro look. Pale pink lipsticks can still be worn this fall because they give your skin warmth. Pale lipsticks with this kind of shade make the skin appear tanner than they actually are!

Ombre Lips

Ombre lips has been around for a while but I just currently jumped on the bandwagon. I think they're sexy and it's a fun new way to update your look not only this summer but for any other time of the year!

I finally got Covergirl's Blast Flipstick Lipstick after seeing it on Sofia Vergara. The sales associate at the CG counter told me that she was wearing the shade STUNNER, and of course, she had me at Sofia Vergara.

Liquid Mattes

It seems like the new trend is liquid lipsticks turning into matte. First time I heard about this is Revlon, and now it's popping up everywhere!

I bought 2 brands to compare that was more or less first in the market (as far as I'm concerned):

COLORSTAY ULTIMATE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN FIRE (P843)

Let me tell you about this product. I love that Revlon has always been the first on long wearing makeup with their ColorStay line that has been around for ages.

Their colors and products have drastically changed over time more so when Gucci Westman came in the picture!

Anyway, let me tell you about this product. I love that its pigment deserves a 10/10. The color and shade is the perfect shade of red that I have been accustomed to using for my skin color and tone. The only thing holding it back from getting a perfect 10 is its overall feel. It's just too sticky. I don't like wearing makeup that makes me feel uncomfortable. When you are applying it though, it feels like you are applying water on your lips. It kind of has that consistency but it's not that messy. It takes a while to dry so you can erase product that strays.

Remember when you were a kid and after you eat sweets the sugar dries on your lips and you press your lips together and they stick together like glue? Well, that's how it feels like. I have to apply gloss on top of it just so I won't feel uncomfortable wearing it.

I love the finish. It's really matte and its lasting power is amazing. I love that even after you eat and drink it stays on your lips!

One of the pluses Revlon has is that they have a lot of shades and colors to choose from. If you're going for matte, go for sexy colors!

LANCOME L'ABSOLU CREME DE MAT (P1,395)

The first time I laid eyes on this lippie on my friend and Preview's Beauty Director, Agoo, I just fell in love with it. After we parted ways in Glorietta that day, I had to rush over to Rustan's to check it out. Lancome had 3 matte shades: #300 Magie Pourpre (In photo), #301 Prune Elixir, nd #100 Potion D.

The upperhand: it glides on smoothly like velvet (i'm not kidding) and it has a velvety finish as well. It doesn't have a shine to it, but it doesn't look dry either nor does it look creamy. I love the smell too. For ladies who aren't used to perfumed cosmetics though, the scent could be a little over powering.

Long after you have applied it and it has dried on your lips, it feels so creamy when you press your lips together. It feels like cream lipstick! It stays on too so that's another plus for me. The shades are sexy too. I love this bright pink shade! It really goes with any skin color or tone too.

Doesn't matter which one you choose, they're both great products. One is almost half the price while the other is, uhmmm, well... You know how luxury brands are. But I like 'em both. It just depends which you will be most comfortable in wearing!

I got a new lipstick! But this time I didn’t have to buy it, one of my best friends, Malloi’s mom gave this to me.

The moment I opened the tube to look at the color, I instantly fell in love with it. It looks red on the tube but it actually has a more bluish undertone when you put it on your lips, giving it a very rich deep raspberry hue, hence the name, Stay Rasberry.

If you want a break from all the Lady Gaga hot pink lipsticks or the very very red ones, this color is a very sophisticated substitute.

When buying lipstick, one of the things I check for first is the smell. I don’t like perfumed ones because after wearing the lipstick long, you’ll get dizzy from the strong smell. But this Estēe Lauder lipstick has a very faint fruity smell. Incidentally smells like raspberry which I love!

I also love that you don’t need a lipstick base to apply it as it glides on like balm. It has intense color and doesn’t show the cracks on your lips. The color stays on amazingly well and long! Even after I drank and ate it stayed on and I didn’t have to reapply the entire night. This is from Estēe Lauder’s Double Wear Line, Stay-in-Place Lipstick.

2 thumbs up for this amazing product! Since this was given to me, I don’t know the price. I also know that my friend didn’t get this here so I’m not really sure if the brand here in the Philippines has this line.

Blushing Lippie

My cousin who works for Tupperware Brands gave me a lipstick from their Colour Collection Line.

A creamy lipstick that glides on easily on your lips even without a lip primer or a balm.

I love that it smells like MAC’s lipsticks and that it’s not exactly matte nor is it glossy.

The color is named Tea Rose which I think is just divine. A pastel pink colored lipstick that is über feminine perfect for everyday use.

The reason why I just love bright colored lipsticks is that it can brighten up your complexion and it’s girly. Hehehe… So enough of those nude coffee, or mocha colored lippies and try bright colored lipsticks today! You will immediately notice the lift effect it gives!

Try the different shades from the Colour Collection by Tupperware. Just visitwww.tupperwarebrands.ph.

Gloss Love.

My beauty motto has always been, “one can never own or wear too much lipgloss.”

SM Department stores came up with a new brand called Elite. I was browsing aisle after aisle when I came across this new brand from… Paris?

The BA claims it’s from Paria but some of their signs were in Korean so one will never really know I guess.

I really loved their REPULP! Gloss in A6538 (?) the gloss doesn’t really have a name but it’s the only bright pink gloss that they have (P375).

The pigment is not that high so it’s best used with a lip color base like what I used, Fashion 21’s Aqualicious in Little Mermaid.

The lipgloss really brought the lipstick’s color to life. It’s a little harder to apply though because it comes with a mini brush applicator instead of the traditional sponge applicators. It tends to deposit a little bit more product than you want so best to brush of excess product on the rim of the tube before applying.

Elite is relatively new in Manila, which only opened last March. So they don’t have the complete line yet.

The BA told me that the lipsticks are yet to be delivered. So stay tuned! I’m sure I’ll be reviewing one of them soon ♥

Elite is available in SM Bicutan, SM Makati and Robinson’s Ermita.

Perfect Orange? Finally?

Could it be? Have I finally found a nice orange lipstick?

When you look at the product, it looks a dark rust color but when you apply it, it’s a lovely bright orange color that is bordering on coral.

I love that it still blends with my gel blush, it gives my face a summer glow even though I have fair skin!

Try Nichido’s Matte Lipstick in Charming (P188). It just feels dry on the lips and doesn’t glide on like a balm but it’s staying power is amazing!

The tube comes with a gloss on its cap that has a pearlized finish. I just love it! Although it's still not that perfect orange I have been looking for.

Wear bright colored lipsticks when you have nothing else on your face. Make it your statement ♥

A 'Prestige' product with a cheap price tag ♥

A little while back, I received an email from Prestige, introducing their new products. I totally forgot about their email, and today, I was again on the prowl for the perfect everyday-wear lipstick. I was in Beauty Bar in Powerplant and came across Prestige's latest Color Treat Anti-Aging Lipstick. I had no idea that they have finally come to Manila!

After browsing the counter and trying lipstick after lipstick on the inside part of my arm, I decided to try on Beautifully Buff.

The first thing I noticed about this product is that it goes on smoothly on your lips like lip balm or a chapstick. It's very creamy and glides on easily! I just love it's pinky-nude shade. It's like a tinted balm (but a bit more pigmented). It's one of those shades that you can pull off with just about any look you feel like, and be out the door in a jiff with a perfectly looking applied makeup. The color lasts awhile, depending on how often you wet your lips. Of course, if you eat, the color tends to rub off your napkin. But I noticed that if you just press your lips together, the color stays on long.

When the color eventually does fade, it fades equally all around your lips. I hate those products where only the inside part of your lips lacks color, and you're left with a ring of color around your lips.

This product has a very refreshing and feminine smell. It's not like those heavily perfumed lipsticks that are common now a days. It is rare that I find something so sweet smelling like lemons and melon (well, at least this is what I am picking up). The smell is very subtle and you will have to sniff it a few times to distinguish the smell.

As for the anti-aging benefits it claims to have, I really can't tell yet since I haven't used it long. But with its balming effect and moisturizing feel it gives, I believe so that it will live up to its claim!

This is me sporting the product! I topped it with Chanel's Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in #131 (or Mica). They look soooo good together! ♥ I got mine in the US for $27, so I'm not sure how much they cost here. Just ask their beauty associates how much they are, I'm sure the prices won't be that far off.

With a whopping price tag of only PhP 375.00 for Prestige's new lipstick, this definitely is a STEAL!! Available in all Beauty Bar Boutiques! Chanel products available in Rustan's Department Stores.
