Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus is now in Manila!

#spotlight

To try and make my skin heal faster, I am aiding it with Clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus which promises to smooth, restore, and correct skin imperfections (and in my case, early signs of wrinkles... AAAAAH!!) I must admit, I am getting a little antsy waiting for my skin to heal from the laser wart removal and I doing everything that I can to help my skin build new skin faster!

The scabs are really itchy and I know I can't scratch or remove them to avoid scarring. All I can do is apply an alcohol free toner, antibacterial cream, this serum and my regular day/night moisturizer. At least for now.

Some TLC from Saforelle (Updated 1.10.14)

#productreview #spotlight

When Aunt Flow comes over to visit monthly like clock work (If you don't know who Aunt Flow is, it's some of you call The Red Flag), my hoo-ha begins to itch because of the hormonal imbalance that occurs and the PH level in your area change. Some may even have a (excuse me) weird smell. Eeek. Gross, but it's part of growing up and becoming a woman so don't fret.

In the market today, there are quite a few number of feminine washes to choose from. For the longest time, I used one that my OB-GYN recommended but honestly? I got tired of it. It worked well but I just got bored with it. One of the main reasons was that it was just too runny and watery so I just ended up wasting a whole lot of it. There are a lot more but I really don't want to get into them right now.

And of course, there's Saforelle.

Your 'Perfect Solution' in Removing Excess Dirt, Oil, and Makeup!

#productreview #spotlight

TONER TIME! I love toner. I think that it is the most important piece of skin care that is part of your regime. If you don't already know, toner DOES NOT close the pores. Your pores are not doors, they don't open and close. The tightness you feel after you tone your face is actually the pores being dirt and oil free. The cleaner they are, the more tight and taught it feels. That's where the moisturizer comes in.

Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Collection 2013

#spotlight

Shades of brown in makeup has been around since the height of Cindy Crawford in the 80s. Then there was Revlon's Toast of New York which is all about browns too.

Women then found them a little bit too dark for day so it went hiatus for a while, although making an appearance every now and then and would then hibernate all over again.

And now it has made a come back from none other than every girl's favorite brand, Bobbi Brown. Brown is back but with a richer hue: Chocolate.

"Imagine bittersweet chocolate and ripe raspberries-that’s the inspiration behind Rich Chocolate. Super-saturated shades of black-infused brown give eyes an unexpected alluring softness. The perfect complement to this standout eye is a touch of rosy, just-pinched color on cheeks and lips. Rich, deep and dense, chocolate is your new go-to hue this fall."
For fall... Hmm... And a little bit for Winter too. I love these shades for winter. It't warm and sultry. Perfect for the cold winters ahead!

Tone and Mask with One Product!

#spotlight

One of the reasons why some women don't like using toner it's because they would say it stung and it made their skin feel so dry and tight. With Avon's Anew Vitale Toner, you can now tone without the sting!

Spotlight: NEW Bobbi Brown Navy and Nude Collection

#spotlight

This just in! Bobbi Brown launches latest collection: The Navy and Nude Collection!

Navy & Nude is my modern take on a summer look that’s sexy, yet fresh-faced.” – Bobbi Brown

Nude is always the best makeup look that one must perfect. More than smokey eyes I would have to say. I think that nude makeup is classy as it is versatile: A makeup look that can be worn either during the day or night, either Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall.

Avon Makes Perfect Red! (Updated)

#spotlight

I have always been in love with red lipstick. I think it is the single color in the lipstick world that can dress up any outfit even if you are naked.

I recently received a lipstick from Avon (way before the launch of their new makeup line). I have had the lipstick ready in my "to be reviewed" drawer and I finally got  to it.

My Friday night at Belle and Cat!

#spotlight #nails

So, here's how my Friday night went down. I spent the late afternoon sitting on a comfortable lounge chair having a deluxe mani pedi at Belle & Cat's Nail and Wax Studio in Legaspi Village. Call me "grandma", but I would totally trade in a smokey and bottles of beer for some pampering!

Virginia Olsen Minerals

#spotlight #productreview #events

To tell you the truth, I have always been skeptic about mineral makeup. I thought that it was just a term they used as a hype by cosmetic brands help them sell their products.

But when I was invited by VOM to be one of their Brand Ambassadors, I had to take the plunge and did some intense Google-ing before the event to find out more about Mineral Makeup. I had a complete 180 when I attended the Virginia Olsen Minerals (VOM) bloggers event last April 19. I got to experience the products first hand and did more than a dozen product swatches testing the pigments, texture, and lasting power.

Skin Correcting Primers

#spotlight

My skin tone is yellow, but my cheeks are naturally red and gets even "redder" when I am feeling too hot or too cold. I am an avid BB cream user, and even with BB on my face, the red areas turn gray because the redness shines through the BB cream so it is not corrected, just covered.

I am doing an unbiased review on 2 color correcting bases here today (you know -those primers that come in green and purple?) that I have been using for a while now, and so that I can show you also what the purpose of these colored bases are and why they make a good base. Although it is not in their label, this is basically what a CC cream is.

Let it SNOE, Let it SNOE, Let it SNOE...

#spotlight

There are three crucial characteristics I consider that qualify as great cosmetics:

  1. Packaging (yes, this is number 1)
  2. Quality
  3. Smell
I have known about Snoe Cosmetics (snow-ee) for a while now. I saw their booth at a beauty fair in Glorietta one time and I just loved their attractive, vintage inspired packaging. I have been buying their special black bleaching beauty bar (PhP 139.00) ever since that day, and my husband has been an avid user of their Argan oil (to make his hair thicker -it works! PhP 799.00).

Last week, Snoe sent me a package of their cosmetics to try and let me tell you... Their stuff works wonders (I am not being paid for this review, and I always tell the truth about cosmetics).
