Get the Look: Glowing Skin

#getthelook

Who doesn't love dewy, glowing skin? Oh, and there is a fine line between looking greasy and looking positively radiant! A lot of women are scared of shine that they apply every mattifying product known to man (or woman). There's nothing wrong with having matte skin if that is your preference. But having absolutely no sheen to your skin can add years to your face. Glow adds youth, so go for glow!

Elizabeth Arden Visible Whitening Night Capsules

#skincare #whitening

A couple of months back, I was invited to the launch of Elizabeth Arden's Visible Whitening Line and I was just tickled pink! In spite of the fact I already have fair skin, I am addicted to whitening products, specially skin care.

Luxury whitening products don't make your skin stark white for the sake of making your whole face white making it look like you're wearing a kabuki mask, but instead, they target areas of your skin that produce too much melanin then balances your skin out. The results are flawless, bright, and natural.

Bronze On!

I know summer’s over but there’s no need to neglect the use of bronzers. Perfect way to sculpt your cheekbones during those nights out and when lightly brushed over your cheekbones, you can use during the day to give you a really warm glow!

I love to use shimmery ones when I go out at night because it gives my face a healthy sun-kissed glow. It makes your face more 3 dimensional, and cheekbones like Jessica Biel's!

I recently just discovered ELF’s new Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Warm Tan (P129.75). It stays put too! It doesn’t just fall off your face after you’ve just applied it!

I like that it's portable and doesn't take up a lot of space in your kikay kit. Secondly, the color is very natural.

HELPFUL TIP: Swipe your brush on the pan and tap excess excess product on your brush. REMEMBER! It's always best to start a little product and just layer it on if you feel you need more.

Start applying from your temples working your way down towards your cheeks so that the mostly deposited product is at your temples.

Cookie Somera Trial Hair and Makeup

The first time Cookie and I spoke was on the phone when she was booking me for her wedding. This was a year ago... Now, it's less than 2 months before her wedding!

As soon as I saw her, I knew that going for the more dramatic eye makeup look was perfect since she had beautiful deep-set eyes.

Bronzed airbrushed cheeks and a pale lip color would bring out her beautiful warm skin and would give her that bridal glow.

Marion Quinto Trial Hair and Makeup

My December 14 bride, Marion had her trial today with her mom. She showed me makeup pegs from magazines of the look she wanted. Basically what she wants is a clean fresh look (which is actually my classic look for brides) so it was really easy for me to create the look.

She also had nice features so it was not so much of an effort to make her up. Marion wasn't used to false lashes but not that she needed them anyway, she had naturally long ones. I just added falsies for added definition for the camera.
Airbrush makeup for Marion.

For her hair, this is what Tony came up with:

Hazel Sabong Hair and Makeup Trial

My lovely bride Atty. Hazel Sabong's trial hair and makeup session.

This is airbrush makeup. She was going to have her prenup photoshoot in Intramuros, and she was having a victorian theme for the shoot. So having a no-makeup makeup look or something really really fresh was the way to go.

I really love her eyes, it's so easy to play up. And her high cheekbones! I didn't have to contour because Hazel has such lovely bone structure already. I just high lighted her apple-cheeks with a lovely pale pink shade to make her cheeks pop!

Meanwhile... 2 months later, Hazel sent me this picture from her prenup pictorial... She was still fresh, after hours wearing the makeup:

Makeup for Love

My sister Love was a muse of Hindy Tantoco's Culte Femme Event. She was wearing a beautiful white dress so I wanted to keep her makeup fresh as well, even though the event was an evening affair.

I knew that everyone will be wearing black or something dark, and will have dark makeup as well... So, I wanted her to stand out and that she did!

Ivory Ezpeleta Trial Hair and Makeup

My lovely bride from Singapore, Ivory, who resembles Hilary Swank...

The look I did for Ivory is something that would suit her personality. Well, we've only just met but my first impression of her was that she was very sweet and soft spoken, kind and really smiley. So my look for her was something sweet as well.

I used colors such as "blushing bride", "bashful" and "spring fling". Just like Hilary's features, she has such strong features that make her look mataray so I lightened her eyebrows to brighten up her face to soften her lovely features.

I was planning to put gloss on her, but after my first coat of lipstick on her, she already loved it so we skipped the gloss which turned out just right for her too because she had such lovely full lips.

April's Gig

April had another gig and she had her hair and makeup done again by me. I love how her features already are strong and very beautiful that she didn't need a whole lot! April is the girl in the middle:
