Feeling a bit sultry?

I just love shades of lush berries, specially deep plums. Thanks to one of my best friends, Carla, gave me this OPI Señorita nail polish set which is just wonderful! I love that all the colors in the box are useable! Some sets include colors that you can’t use. Thanks Carla!

I French manicured my nails but instead of the traditional white tip, I used black nail polish from local brand Bobbie since the one from the box is a deep blue-gray one. And for my base, I used the luscious berry from the set called “No Spain No Gain”. I give myself a manicure because if I went to the salon as often as I changed nail polish, it would cost a fortune! All you need are the right tools!

I paired my new nail color with a lipgloss that was more or less in the same family of colors. It’s Shawill’s Water Smooth Lipgloss #10 (P118). It has a pearl finish that gives the color a pop! It’s a moisturizing lipgloss too so you don’t have to reapply every hour.

Keep your eyes bare if you would like to wear a bold and shiny lipgloss like this one as to keep your whole look balanced. Make sure that when you choose a blush, they have the same undertone. Blue for blue, red for red, orange for orange. So if you will be using a lip color like this one, you can’t be wearing an apricot or peach blush, and vise versa.

I’m feeling florals and lace, pearl earrings, pastel pink and coral lipsticks, despite these rainy days.

This is the first time I tried Caress’ Rose Beige (P22.75). The color is more on the coral side than it is rose, so I think the name of the polish is a bit misleading.

The color is a delicate shade of coral and the consistency is just amazing. It doesn’t thicken (just what I indicated from my previous polish post) after a few applications. It remained its consistency all throughout that’s why I love this polish.

You don’t have to spend so much money on polish because these local brands are coming up with great formulas now a days. Specially for someone like me who change nail color frequently, depending on my mood for the week!

The nail polish stays on for about 3-4 days and doesn’t chip or peel off easily. That’s why I would recommend this brand to you ladies out there, and I would definitely buy more colors soon!

I changed my nail color again, this time I decided to take a break from the shades of reds and pinks and decided to go for a little more on the earthy, natural side.

I bought this polish last week. I figured that I will find the perfect time to wear it, the time was now.

The name of the polish is Foxy Brown from Caress (P22.75). I just love that it’s on the darker nude side. It’s wearable for both day and night. I found that it goes with every outfit too! It may have a little bit of a blue undertone making it look a little on the violet side, but it’s definitely more on the brownish nude.

It has a little bit of iridescence on it but it’s not exactly glittery which gives it a little bit of sexy shine.

The formula is a little bit more watery than Caronia which makes it easier to apply. However, it takes more applications (about 2-3 coats) to get the full effect of the polish. I don’t know, maybe putting nail polish on yourself is just harder than having nail specialists apply it for you.

Caronia and Bobbie nail polishes get really sticky as soon as you apply that first coating on your first finger. Maybe when air mixes with it, it immediately thickens leaving you with really thick glop on your nail forcing you to reapply leaving a big mess. Caress however remains it’s light consistency which is the same as the ones from OPI or Orly.

I think from now on, the next time I get new colors, I’ll get them from Caress. Unless the others have new colors that they don’t.

A lot of brides ask me during pre-trial meetings if having well manicured hands is important on their big day is. I say, very very important.

Your official wedding photographer is bound to take lots of pictures of the happy couple holding hands and showing off their new rings (some are pretty much in closeup mode). So chipped nails and chapped hands are obviously not an option. No PhotoShop software in the world can make dry hands look supple and well groomed.

To ensure your hands are smooth and your nails look strong and healthy, use a good hand cream every day for a month before the wedding and treat yourself to a regular manicure so unruly cuticles and soft/brittle nails can be sorted out in time for you wedding.

If you are anything like me who is a nail biter and have no time to grow your nails, go to a nail salon and inquire about nail extensions, sculptured nails or acrylic nails. These are temporary and they have different lengths too! You can go from short, medium, or long. They cost between PhP 80.00 to 100.00/finger depending on the nail salon you go to.

I have put together here some lovely bridal colors that you can choose from which are pretty much common for brides.

There are a lot of brands now that carry lovely pastel colors for brides. Take the time to browse the shelves and try them out before buying the one you want!
